James T. “Tom” Bradshaw, 70, of Pendleton, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 at his home.
He was born July 29, 1938 in La Grande to William Felix Bradshaw and Loretta Mae (Knight) Wilson.
He served in the National Guard as a staff sergeant for 25 years. He worked as a police officer in La Grande, as a park ranger for Hood River County, as a security officer in Sweet Home and for the East Oregonian newspaper in Pendleton.
Mr. Bradshaw married his wife, Juanita L. Bradshaw, in 1979.
He was a carpenter, electrician and plumber and loved to fix things. He enjoyed buying gadgets from magazines, giving advice and spending time with his family, especially with his wife at their cabin in Meacham.
Mr. Bradshaw is survived by his wife, Juanita Bradshaw; sons William Bradshaw of Huntsville, Ala., David Bradshaw of Reno, Nev., Paul Shelton of Pendleton and Garland Shelton of Chester, Calif; daughters Sue Johnston of Sweet Home, Trudie Zemmer of Baker City, Judy Nord of Pendleton and Kimberly (Bradshaw) Wilson of Pendleton; brother Bus Wilson of Eugene; lifelong family friend RuthAnn Kinnison of Pendleton; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ida L. (Bradshaw) McCormick; and great-great-grandchildren Gracie Jo Bradley and Trace Bunch.
A memorial service was held Oct. 27 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pendleton. Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop is in handling the arrangements.
