Most definitely spending time at the lake, either just chilling out swimming, or playing sand volleyball at Sunnyside, going out on the boat, tubing or wake boarding. Another thing I enjoy is going for a nice hike at McDowell Creek Falls.
What is your favorite thing about living in Sweet Home?
The lake. But honestly, I love the tight and strong community that this town brings.
Why did you join the Sportsman’s Holiday Court?
I have wanted to be a part of Sportsman Holiday Court since I was a little girl and saw them at community events.
What are you looking forward to during Sportsman’s Holiday? What have you enjoyed so far about being on the court?
I’m looking forward to the rodeo. The appearances that have made an impact so far would definitely be the elementary school visits.
What charity/nonprofit did you choose to advocate for and why?
Heartland Humane Shelter and Care. I chose this organization because they do so much to take care of animals.
If you had one day to show someone the best day ever in Sweet Home, what would that day look like?
For breakfast we would stop into the new Taylor Made Cafe and Bakery. Then we would head over to grab a delicious, but local drink at Sunshine Espresso. Then we would head to McDowell Creek Falls for a morning hike. For lunch we would come back into town for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at our old-school A&W. Then we’d go to Sunnyside and do the usual volleyball and tanning. We would then take the boat out and drive it around and maybe pull out the tube. In the evening we could go enjoy a movie at the famous Rio Theatre. But for dinner, we would definitely head to the Point for a meal that never disappoints. Then we’d round the night out with watching the sunset just settle over the lake.
What advice would you give a younger “you” about school, friendships, other choices?
Not everything is in your control; sometimes you have to let things or people go.
Do you have an adult figure who has inspired you? If so, who is that and why?
Mr. Jacobson, because he has been there for me at my best and worst and I can always count on him. He has seen my best and worst, and still tries to help me become the best me. He has helped guide me through joining FFA, being an officer, then becoming a two-time district officer, and even helped me get the job that I have.
What is your favorite subject in school and what are your goals for your final year of high school?
Agriculture, because I want to move on to being a veterinarian later in life. Some of my personal goals for my final heat of high school are to hit 600 community service hours, get First Team All-Conference for soccer, and to continue a strong academic school year while making some of the best memories before I move on.
