Cascade Timber Consulting, Inc. has announced the promotion of Milton I. Moran, Jr. to president of CTC, effective March 1.
Moran will succeed Dave E. Furtwangler, who will retire from his current role at CTC on Feb. 28, 2018.
Furtwangler has served with CTC over the past 33 years, the last 13 years as president.
“I’ve enjoyed working with Milt Moran as a key member of Cascade Timber Consulting,” Furtwangler said. “I know he will do well leading the organization and maintaining our high standards.”
Moran brings to his new role many years of experience and dedication to CTC, the community and the forest industry.
His extensive community involvement includes eight years of prior service on the Sweet Home School Board and current service on the Samaritan Health Services Board, Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital Board and the Linn County Parks Commission.
In addition, Moran has held numerous leadership roles in the forestry industry, including serving on the Oregon Department of Forestry Fire Funding, Forestland Classification, Large Fire Review and Wildfire Protection Act Committees, to name only a few examples.
This change in leadership at CTC coincides with the 100-year anniversary of the Hill family ownership of timber land in Oregon and reinforces their long-term commitment to the tree farming and timber business, as well as the Sweet Home area, according to a company statement.
As part of the transition, CTC will become an affiliate of the Hill Family-related holdings.
