Princess Kimberly Lovik loves Sweet Home.
“I think my representation of Sweet Home will reflect my attitude toward the town and the people which is enthusiastic and extremely positive,” Princess Kim said. “I love growing up here and wouldn’t change it for the world. I don’t know what more than that is needed for anyone to be a good representative.”
Lovik, 17, is the daughter of John and Tina Lovik and will be a senior at SHHS next fall. She has a 3.5 grade point average.
She has a brother, John, 18, and Jacob, 15, a freshman.
She is involved in LINK leadership, is a student body officer, cheer leading captain, track and field, Powder Puff football, Homecoming Queen, cross country and class president.
Her job experience includes washing cars for the Sweet Home Police Department.
Princess Kim has helped with May Week, organized Thanksgiving Baskets and Mr. Husky and assisted at Fisherman’s Bend Cleanup.
She enjoys reading, scrap booking and sewing.
“I’ve always wanted to be a part of the Sportsman’s Holiday court,” Princess Kim said. “Most little girls who have lived in Sweet Home do because it’s fun and a great opportunity to meet new people.”
Teens who are good role models for younger kids is one way she can make a difference in the community, Princess Kim believes.
A best friend would say Princess Kim, “is dramatic and fun…loud and fun loving…easy to talk to, outgoing…laughs a lot and reads too much.”
“The absolute best part of Sweet Home is Friday nights in the fall, football games,” Princess Kim said. “I like looking up into the stands at a sea of crazy green and gold chaos all supporting the town. You can’t help but be proud of such a close knit community.”
Her hero is Peggy Kingsley who is the “epitome of a strong, vibrant, supportive woman. She is everything I hope to be.”
If she could live in another time period, it would be “Somewhere in England or Ireland during Medieval times. I would be one of the woman who secretly went out on the battle field. I read a book like that once and decided that’s definitely what I would do, it’s crazy but courageous at the same time.”
