8:59 a.m. – Male deceased from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, 6100 block of Main.

Dec. 18

12:40 a.m. – Joshua Paul Eli, 23, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Lebanon. Transported to Linn County Jail.

2 a.m. – Officer located several signs knocked down on Long Street between Mountain View and 43rd. Report taken.

8:15 a.m. – Caller reported that someone drove through the lawn and hit a brick wall at location, 800 block of Mountain View. Officer responded and located 40 cinder blocks and lawn damaged.

10:24 a.m. – Noah Joseph Allen, 12, taken into custody for two counts of third-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault and two counts of harassment, 1709 Fir St. Transported to Linn-Benton Juvenile Detention Center.

1:42 p.m. – Caller reported that someone used her daughter’s debit card, 800 block of Fifth. Officer responded. No one out any money. Bank stopped transaction.

1:32 p.m. – Kasey Lawrence Bertolet, 13, taken into custody for two counts of third-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault and two counts of harassment, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Transported to Linn-Benton Juvenile Detention Center.

2:58 p.m. – Caller reported that females caught shoplifting on tape, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer took report. Approximate value was $80.

4:40 p.m. – Shirley Anne Morgan, 43, arrested for third-degree theft and Albany warrant for failure to appear, 1110 Nandina St. Transported to Albany Police Department.

4:58 p.m. – Gypsie Marie Esperum, 53, arrested for third-degree theft, 1280 Nandina St. Cited and released.

6:47 p.m. – Caller reported that someone stole a Christmas bear decoration from her yard, 1700 block of Tamarack. Report taken for third-degree theft. Approximate value was $40.

Dec. 17

1:11 p.m. – Caller reported someone shot a paintball at her house, 800 block of Elm. Report taken.

3:42 p.m. – Caller reported that a male hit him in the face about a half hour earlier, 2000 block of Long. Officer took report for third-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault and harassment.

5:20 p.m. – Caller reported that there are people at the skate park, and the park is closed at dusk. Officer responded and located three juveniles leaving. They were advised the park is closed.

9:21 p.m. – Caller reported that a male in a black jacket, with a female and a dog, shoved her husband into a rose bush, 1300 block of 13th. Officer responded but was unable to locate the male. Contacted the caller who did not wish to pursue charges but wanted the subject counseled if located. Officer would be on the lookout.

9:35 p.m. – Caller reported that someone ransacked his residence, 1200 block of 44th. Officer took report for first-degree burglary.

9:49 p.m. – Caller reported that the male from the earlier incident (9:21 p.m.) with her husband came by and kicked their fence, 1300 block of 13th. Officer took a report for second-degree criminal mischief. Approximate damage was $50.

Dec. 16

11:03 a.m. – A car ran into the wall at Thriftway, 621 Main St. Driver Mabel Jeanette Medlock, 87, and passenger William Medlock, 87, transported to hospital by Sweet Home medics. No citations.

12:17 p.m. – Caller reported what looked like a deer that had been hit. The backstrap was cut out and the carcass thrown in a driveway, Harding Street. Referred to Oregon State Police.

4:22 p.m. – Caller reported a saw stolen from his pickup the previous day, 1100 block of Long. Report taken for second-degree theft and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. Approximate value was $900.

Dec. 15

2:08 a.m. – Makayla Rose Snyder, 15, referred to Juvenile Department for runaway, 90 Berry St. Released to responsible adult.

8:14 a.m. – Caller reported that his car was keyed sometime during the night, 2300 block of Main. Report taken for second-degree criminal mischief and unauthorized entry into motor vehicle. Damage was approximately $500, and $200 in items taken from vehicle.

1:12 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 18th and Main. Drivers were Nichole Marie Torrance, 23, and David Arthur Armedariz, 30. No injuries. No citations. Both drivers told police the accident was caused by a third vehicle that suddenly stopped but was not otherwise involved.

1:38 p.m. – Robert Paul Killins, 69, cited for driving while suspended, 10th near Elm.

3:01 p.m. Sheriff’s search-and-rescue deputies responded to a call that two adults and a 3-year-old child on a quad had gotten stuck in the snow in the 64400 block of Big Lake Camp Road. Deputies retrieved them safe and “fine.”

3:55 p.m. – Joe Orlando Suarez, 18, arrested for two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Transported to Linn County Jail.

5:32 p.m. – Caller reported four to five kids in skate park after hours. Caller called back, and officer canceled as they had left the park.

Dec. 14

12:40 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 1300 block of Main. Drivers were Robert Michael Shaver, 46, and Bayli Rachelle Riggs, 19. No injuries. No citations.

3:49 p.m. – Jason Leroyce Anderson, 24, arrested for second-degree theft, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Cited and released. Value of stolen goods was $124.93.

4:48 p.m. – Dustyn Lee Barcus, 35, arrested for third-degree theft and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Cited and released.

9:38 p.m. – Melinda Marie Phillips, 47, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended and cited for driving uninsured and failure to carry proof of insurance, 2458 Long St. Cited and released.

10:10 p.m. – Dustyn Lee Barcus, 35, arrested for fourth-degree assault, 3224 Main St. Cited and released.

Dec. 13

9:11 a.m. – Officer responded to report that someone had kicked in the side door at Lilies and Lovelies, 1141 Long St. Damage was estimated at approximately $200, but it did not appear anyone had actually entered the store, according to a police report. Report taken.

12:22 p.m. – Jason Edward McKendree, 17, and Charles Rudd Bromley Links, 17, taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance – marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school. Booked, referred to Juvenile Department, released to responsible adult. 1641 Long Street, west side of high school.

3:56 p.m. – Caller reported that she suspects a dog killed her sheep in the 30200 block of Fairview Road. She reported that she knows who owns the dog she suspects did the deed, but did not have actual proof of responsibility. Deputy advised her of her rights as a livestock owner and how to contact Dog Control.

6:31 p.m. – Caller reported receiving a phone call from his nephew at 4:30 p.m., who told his uncle he was stuck off a roadway above Rocky Top Bridge on Quartzville Road and needed help. Caller said he was unable to locate his nephew and was unable to make phone contact. Deputy located subject, who was not familiar with the area, stuck on logging road above Rocky Top.

7:08 p.m. – Officer responded to report of stolen firewood over past several weeks, 1080 12th Ave. Occupant asked for extra patrol and will call back if there are further problems.

Dec. 10

12:31 p.m. – A resident in the 46900 block of Old Hufford Drive complained that her neighbor had threatened to sell her calves if they keep getting on his property. A deputy responded and determined that the area in which the calves are located is open range. According to a Sheriff’s report, the property owner who allegedly made the threats said he would not sell the calves and has fixed his fence to keep her animals out.

Dec. 9

1:09 p.m. – Deputy responded to report that someone had dumped garbage in the vicinity of 45800 block of Santiam Highway. Several names were found on paper included in the material. Investigation revealed that a contractor cleaning up a foreclosed residence was running out of room in his load to the dump so he took some of the rubbish up the road and dumped it. The suspect admitted and returned to clean up the rubbish. Offensive littering citation issued.

3:26 p.m. – Deputy responded to report of theft, 28300 block Liberty Road. Two Honda generators, valued at $900 each, and a generator junction box valued at $500 were taken from a shop sometime between Aug. 1 and the present. No suspects. Report taken.
