Short-handed girls soccer team loses 5-0 to Sisters

The Huskies lost 5-0 to Sisters at home in girls soccer on Oct. 7.

Halftime score was 3-0.

“We were short on players too,” said Coach Ramiro Santana. The bench was short, and players were out sick and injured.

“We’ve got too many people hurt, so that makes us a little worse on both teams (JV and varsity),” Santana said. The girls are still gaining experience, but “we looked good. We did better than when we were over at Sisters. We had a pretty good opportunity to score. They’re still competing and playing.”

All of that dedication will pay off next year, he said. “We’re looking better by the day, but right now, having people missing is difficult.”
