Susan Wimmer, 67, died April 16, 2009 in her home in Cascadia, with her family by her side.
She was born April 1, 1942 in Bend, the daughter of Jack and Carolyn Nichols.
Mrs. Wimmer attended dental school in San Francisco and eventually settled in Salem. She worked at Black Angus restaurant as a waitress for over 25 years. She was one of the “favorite” and most requested by her patrons.
She loved people and always went above and beyond to accommodate their requests. In her long battle with cancer she never complained and she kept everyone else’s needs above hers.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Wimmer; son Timothy Berry of Indian Wells, Calif.; daughter Elaine Engstrom, also of Indian Wells; brother Tom Nichols of Crescent City, Calif.; twin sister Sharon Denney of Gold Beach; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Susan G. Koman Cancer Society.
A “Celebration of her life” will be held in Gold Beach on July 4 at her sister’s home. All who know her and loved her are invited.
