“Extremely hot weather” contributed to reduced participation in this year’s Sweet Home Sweet Ride Car Show held June 24 on the school district athletic fields.
However, generous donors made up for that, Director Kimi Nash said.
The 129 entries included cars, trucks, 4x4s, race cars, motorcycles, mini trucks, and semi trucks. Eighty trophies were awarded.
“The Burn Out Pit continued to draw another great crowd and was a huge success, with 100 percent of the Burn Out Pit proceeds going to the ABC House,” Nash said.
The winner, the Burn Out Pit won two one-daypasses to the Woodburn Drags and a gift certificate to O&M Tire for a four-wheel thrust alignment, an $80 value, she noted.
She expressed appreciation to the major sponsors and businesses for their in-kind donations, raffles and trophy sponsorships.
“Without them this show would not be as fun as it is,” she said.
“We have had another great show year and I can’t wait for next year.”she said. “I love this event.”
