Sweet Home police are investigating a kidnapping that occurred Monday, Oct. 2, according to a news release.
Sabrina Majors, 34, was charged with first-degree kidnapping and hindering prosecution in connection with the incident.
Corey Dean, 43, was charged with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree criminal conspiracy in connection with the incident.
At approximately 9:03 a.m., SHPD responded to a call from Sweet Home Public Works Maintenance Yard employees, 1400 24th Ave., who said that a man showed up at the location saying that he had been kidnapped and beaten.
The man was sitting on a bench at the office with a head injury, when officers arrived. Medics responded to evaluate the injury.
The man told officers he had “friended” a female, later identified as Sabrina Majors (Curtis), on Facebook that morning and she had offered him a place to stay as he was stranded in Sweet Home.
Majors picked up the victim at the Safeway parking lot that morning in a gold pickup truck. They later picked up two other men who got into the back seat of the truck.
The victim said he was picked up by three individuals, was not allowed to exit the vehicle, was punched in the head and then escaped through the passenger window.
The victim said he told them repeatedly to let him out of the truck because he feared for his life. He stated while lying on the ground, a male pointed a gun at him. Then the truck left the area.
A short time later, officers located a pickup truck matching the victim’s description parked at 2280 Long St.
Officers contacted the tenant who verified the truck belonged to people staying in her home.
Majors and Dean were arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants.
The Sweet Home Police Department executed a search warrant at 2280 Long St. where Dean and Majors had been staying. During the search, officers seized a dealer scale, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.
The investigation continues and SHPD encourages anyone with any information related to this incident to contact Officer Chris Wing or Detective Cyndi Pichardo at 541-367-5181.
