Who would steal seahorses?
That’s what Laurie Horner is wondering as she ponders the loss of a sculpture from her front yard that featured three of the horse-shaped fish.
Horner was leaving her house at 1650 Dogwood St. last week when she noticed that the gray cement sculpture, a gift she received a few years ago that has stood atop a stump in her yard, was missing.
“I noticed a big space in my yard,” she said. “It set my house apart.”
She was in a hurry, so she called the police the next day, Oct. 9, to report the loss.
Horner, who moved to Sweet Home in 2016 and said she lives in her dad’s former house, said it probably wasn’t easy to make off with the seahorses.
“It’s pretty heavy,” she said. “It’s all concrete. I had to call a handyman to put it on the stump.”
Anyone who wants to provide a clue can call the Sweet Home police at (541) 367-5181.
“It’s more principle than anything,” Horner said.
