Court Closes Six Cases on One Man in One Day

A Sweet Home area man’s driving record landed him 60 days in jail, 270 days of a suspended driver’s license, 18 months supervised probation and $2,000 in fines, after Linn County Court addressed six separate cases on July 22.

From a culmination of six separate cases against Kevin Austin Corrington, Jr., 26 – who has addresses listed in both Sweet Home and Lebanon– go as far back as 2022, and three of them occurred this year.

On April 2, 2024, Lebanon police reported an attempted traffic stop after clocking Corrington at 70 mph in town. Corrington led chase for about 40 minutes, reaching speeds up to 95 mph, and ending near Crawfordsville on Upper Calapooia Drive. The report indicates the Linn County Sheriff’s Office took Corrington into custody “at gunpoint” and seized a Ruger from him.

On July 22, 2024, Corrington was sentenced in this case to 180 days suspension of a driver’s license, 20 days jail and 18 months supervised probation after pleading no contest to fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving and unlawful possession of a firearm. A charge of criminal driving while suspended or revoked was dismissed.

On May 7, 2024, Corrington was arrested following a traffic stop and, on July 22, 2024, was sentenced to five days jail based on a no contest plea to unlawful possession of a firearm. Charges of criminal driving and carrying a concealed weapon were dismissed.

On July 22, 2024, Corrington was sentenced for a July 6, 2024, incident to 90 days suspension of a driver’s license, 20 days jail, 18 months supervised probation and a $1,000 fine after pleading no contest to fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and criminal driving while suspended or revoked. Charges of reckless driving and first degree criminal trespass were dismissed.

In 2019, Corrington pleaded no contest for July 2019 charges of DUII (liquor) and failure to perform the duties of a driver-property damage; a reckless driving charge was dismissed.

For a July 2022 case, he pleaded no contest to his second DUII (liquor), with a reckless driving charge dismissed. According to court documents, the 2022 charges were related to OSP-issued citations that included speeding 83/55 and failure to install an interlocking ignition device; both were dismissed. Corrington did not, however, fulfill his sentencing requirements to complete treatment services and a warrant was issued for further court hearings. On July 22, 2024, Corrington was sentenced to five days jail and extended probation.

In May 2024, he was charged with criminal driving while suspended or revoked and driving uninsured for an incident in October 2023. As part of a plea deal on July 22, 2024, the charges were dismissed.

In November 2023, he was charged with speeding 85/55, criminal driving while suspended or revoked, and unlawful possession of a firearm. A warrant was issued for failure to appear. Corrington was served his warrants when arrested on April 2, 2024. On July 23, 2024, Corrington was sentenced to 10 days jail and a $1,000 fine after pleading no contest to criminal driving while suspended or revoked and unlawful possession of a firearm. The speed limit charge was dismissed.
