Easter Scene Around Central Linn: April 23, 2025

Scrambling for Egg-citing Pursuit

Children poise themselves and pay close attention for the sound of a whistle that will give them permission to begin an Easter egg hunt. Approximately 100 to 200 kids from Brownsville and surrounding areas came in force upon sectioned areas of Brownsville’s Pioneer Park where about 2,000 Easter eggs were hidden by members of the Travis Moothart American Legion Post 184 on Saturday, April 19. Different age groups took turns laying hold of colorful candy-filled eggs with hopes of locating a golden egg that would earn them a special prize.

Easter Egg Hunt Sunnyside-up

Halsey’s Easter egg hunt, sponsored by Spirit of the Valley Church and Lion’s Club, attracted about 25-30 children who flitted about like pollen-hungry bees, snatching up the approximately 2,000 eggs spread across Halsey City Park on Saturday, April 19. Despite it being a cool 50 degrees outside, organizers said it was the best weather they’ve had in many, many years because the ground – usually muddy during their annual hunt – was dry.
