The first baby of the year arriving at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital is, according to her parents, very easy to settle and “has the cutest dimple on one cheek.”

Tori and Keith Truett, of Lebanon, welcomed their second child, Nora Jane, on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 5:19 a.m. At 18 inches, she weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces.

Although she arrived 16 days early, Nora’s big brother, Huck, 2½ years old, was ready for her.

It’s been exciting for him to see all the new baby things move into the house prior to her arrival, Tori said. And when he’d see a baby, he’d point it out and turn to find mom and her belly.

“Since she’s been home, he’s become very protective and gets upset if she’s upset, and is quick to tell us what we need to do to help her,” she said.

It’s nothing for Huck to help mom and his new sibling out with an eagerness to fetch needed items, like a blanket.

As for the parents, “she’s definitely the piece we didn’t know we were missing,” Tori said.
