The Sweet Home Huskies (4-3) delivered a well-fought performance under the Friday night lights, defeating the Junction City Tigers (1-6) 35-8. This victory marks a significant turnaround for the Huskies, who now are hopeful for a playoff run.

From the opening whistle, Sweet Home took control of the game. The team was determined to break their winless league streak dating back to 2021.

The Huskies’ offense posted a 59% run and 41% pass ratio, with an average gain of 5 yards per play, contributing to an overall efficiency rating of 61%. Defensively, the team also excelled, snagging three interceptions during the game.

Head coach Ryan Adams praised the team’s effort, noting that the defense held Junction City to under 150 total yards, much of which came late in the game.

“It was a great night of football,” Adams said. “The guys were locked in and focused all week with one goal in mind: earn respect. They did just that.”

The Huskies’ balanced offensive attacks kept the Tigers on their heels, while special teams remained solid as they have been all season.

Adams emphasized that this performance provides a strong foundation for their biggest game of the year, as they look to take on the Stayton Eagles (4-3) at home on October 25. Fans attending this game can also look forward to Senior Night, with a USA-themed dress code and a special 50/50 raffle, benefiting local scholarships and literacy programs like the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
