Two people died early Sunday morning, May 7, in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 just south of Albany.
A preliminary Oregon State Police investigation revealed that 64-year-old Jimmy Davis of Portland was traveling northbound near milepost 233 in an Infiniti QX5 and rear-ended a Nissan Rogue, driven by 36-year-old Glenn Stillman of Independence. The impact sent the Infiniti off the road and into several trees.
Davis suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported for medical treatment. Passengers Kimberly Ritter, 56, of Portland, and an unidentified male teenager were both declared dead at the scene. A second male juvenile was critically injured and transported for medical treatment, police said.
Stillman was uninjured in the incident.
No further information was immediately available.
Oregon State Police personnel were assisted at the scene by the Albany Fire Department and Oregon Department of Transportation.
