A new website has been developed to assist Oregon homeowners and landowners navigate the appeal process of their Oregon Wildfire Risk Map designations.
UNDO762.org provides up-to-date information on the appeal process and how landowners can help reverse the consequential impacts of the map. The State’s deadline for filing an appeal is March 10. Those who fail to request their appeal hearing by March 10 of this year will automatically and permanently forfeit their ability to appeal their individual Wildfire Hazard Map designation.
The March 10 deadline for filing an appeal remains in full effect. Gov. Kotek’s recent statement of a delay does not mean that the filing process is delayed. Businesses and trusts owning land should know that an attorney is not required to file the appeal.
UNDO762.org provides information on how landowners can not only appeal what some say are Oregon’s overreaching land use restrictions, but also information on how to file a cease-and-desist order, and demand a 120-day extension for the filing.
UNDO762.org will continue after the deadline, and all property owners are encouraged to continuously monitor the site and understand that information. The information contained on UNDO762.org is intended to educate affected parties and help them to remain confident that their efforts in the power of public response will expose to lawmakers the public’s perception of impropriety in the questionable attempts at implementation of rules that negatively affect property owners.
The service is free. Landowners can also provide input and ask more questions at UNDO762.org.
